CIS Brings GigE Into Its Lineup With Two New 5 Megapixel Cameras

BOSTON, June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- CIS Americas, Inc., a leading supplier of industrial-grade machine vision cameras, has announced its first GigE iPort(TM) products -- offering a combination of low-cost, flexibility and performance previously unavailable in any CIS camera.

The two new cameras -- the color VCC-F60FV19GE and monochrome VCC-G60FV11GE -- both sport 5-megapixel CCD sensors. With the GigE iPort standard, the cameras can deliver up to 15 frames per second at full resolution.
GigE is a camera interface standard based on the gigabit Ethernet communication protocol. It allows for fast image transfer using low-cost standard cables, even over long lengths.

The monochrome VCC-G60 output is 8 or 10-bit monochrome, and the color VCC-F60 device outputs 8 or 10-bit RAW. Both cameras have a compact housing and rugged design that allows manufacturers and businesses to install the devices in a variety of applications.

CIS Americas Debuts iVISION Security Camera Series

BOSTON, June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- CIS Americas, Inc., a leading supplier of industrial-grade cameras, has launched the first in its breakthrough iVISION series of security products: the VCC-V90S Smart Security Camera.

The V90S is a commercial grade, network security camera that uses the Texas Instruments DaVinci(TM) Technology platform, with processors that are optimized for digital video system performance. Featuring a fully-programmable Digital Signal Processor (DSP), the V90S can run multiple simultaneous image processing algorithms at up to SXGA resolution and 30 frames per second.

The camera is compatible with auto-iris and zoom lenses, as well as electric pan/tilt housings. The mechanical IR cut filter ensures superior image quality in low-light situations over Ethernet or analog interfaces. Integrated audio in/out enables users to not on see and hear but interact with what they're viewing through the camera.

2006 was an incredible year for CIS.

With the leadership of Mr. Yamanaka, our president, we launched several new ventures. We began development of our new V90 camera, a smart camera enabled with the Texas Instruments DaVinci chip. That camera will hit the market this year. We also previewed a 3CCD and 5MP machine vision cameras. And, of course, CIS Americas was launched. Perhaps CIS's biggest challenge yet.

With only 3 months of actually being in business, our distributors are working to bring CIS' products to market. Speaking of which, we've lined up 4 different distributors to assist you in the design process of your machine vision application.
